Talc

 

Talc is used in many industries such as paper making, plastic, paint and coatings, rubber, food, electric cable, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, ceramics, etc.It is often used for surfaces of lab counter tops and electrical switchboards because of its resistance to heat, electricity and acids. Talc finds use as a cosmetic (talcum powder), as a lubricant, and as a filler in paper manufacture.

 

 

Glycol stearate

Glycol stearate is an ester of stearic acid and ethylene glycol.It is used as an ingredient in many types of personal care products and cosmetics including shampoos, hair conditioners, and skin lotions.

 

 

Zinc Oxide

Zinc oxide is an inorganic compound. It occurs as a white powder. The mineral zincite usually contains manganese and other impurities that confer a yellow to red color. Zinc oxide is an amphoteric oxide. It is nearly insoluble in water, but it is soluble in (degraded by) most acids, such as hydrochloric acid. The main usage of zinc oxide (zinc white) was in paints and as an additive to ointments. Zinc white was accepted as a pigment in oil paintings by 1834 but it did not mix well with oil.Zinc oxide as a mixture with about 0.5% iron(III) oxide (Fe2O3) is called calamine.

 

Nitric Acid

Nitric acid is commonly used as a strong oxidizing agent. The main use of nitric acid is for the production of fertilizers. Other important uses include etching and dissolution of metals, especially as a component of aqua regia for the purification and extraction of gold, and in chemical synthesis. It has been used in various forms as the oxidizer in liquid-fueled rockets.

The process of distillation starts when a liquid is heated to boiling point. The liquid starts evaporate, by appearing in a vapor form. Distillation is expended to detach liquids from nonvolatile solids, as in the separation of alcoholic liquors from fermented materials, or in the separation of two or more liquids with distinct boiling points, as in the separation of gasoline, kerosene, and lubricating oil from crude oil. CF Fertilisers is planning to invest approximately £40 million ($56m) at its Billingham (UK) ammonium nitrate (AN) plant. The biggest investment at the facilities for 20 years, the project will create over 100 temporary jobs during its execution over the next two years, said CF Billingham site manager Keith Brudenell. The bulk of the money will be spent on two key projects to improve the infrastructure and production capabilities of the site with development of other facilities and equipment also planned. Airgas USA LLC said that it will build new liquid carbon dioxide (CO2) production facility in Stockton and will expand an air separation unit (ASU) in Etiwanda. Thus, increasing its presence in California. Airgas is an Air Liquide company. Once on-stream, the two facilities will significantly increase the company’s merchant gas capabilities in the state. The new facility in Stockton, CA will produce liquid CO2 and support the manufacturing of dry ice used in a variety of customer applications, from water treatment. Read more

 

Sumitomo Corporation, together with PTT Global Chemical Public Company Ltd and Kuraray Co Ltd have concluded a joint venture (JV) agreement. They have been jointly conducting a detailed feasibility study on the manufacture and sale of butadiene derivatives in Thailand. and recently concluded a joint venture agreement with these partners. Kuraray will have 53.3 percent share in the JV while PTT and Sumitomo will 33.4 percent and 13.3 percent respectively. Read more
