Adidas sold 1 mn shoes made out of ocean plastic in 2017

Adidas AG has sold 1 million shoes made out of ocean plastic last year, CEO Kasper Rorsted told CNBC. The German sportswear giant launched last year three new versions of its UltraBoost shoe made out of plastic found in the ocean. It teamed up with environmental initiative Parley for the Oceans to create the shoe. At the time, Adidas said it wanted to create a million pairs of the UltraBoost shoes. Read more


The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the proposal of Department of Fertilizers to continue urea subsidy scheme up to 2019-20 at a total estimated cost of Rs. 1,64,935 crores and for disbursement of fertilizer subsidy. This decision implies that there will be no increase in the price of urea, till 2020. Ube Material Industries Ltd said that it will establish a plant for manufacturing MOS-HIGE magnesium oxysulfate whisker in Thailand. The new plant will be constructed within the industrial complex of UBE Chemicals (Asia) Public Co Ltd located in Rayong Province.
