Wacker opens new silicone production site in South Korea

Wacker Chemie AG has opened a new production site for silicone elastomers in Jincheon, South Korea. With the new site, Wacker is significantly expanding its production and therefore its position as a leading silicone manufacturer in the region. Some €15 million has been invested in the new production site. Wacker has produced silicone sealants in Jincheon since 2010 and has also manufactured speciality silicone elastomers there for the electronics industry since 2012. Read more


Berger Paints India Ltd said its board has approved an investment of Rs 200 crore to set up an integrated paint manufacturing plant in Uttar Pradesh. “The board of directors of the company has approved installation of an integrated paint plant with water and solvent-based decorative, industrial and protective coatings, resin, putty, emulsion and construction chemical manufacturing capabilities at an investment of about Rs 200 crore at Sandila Industrial Area in Uttar Pradesh (UP),” the company said in a BSE filing. Celanese Corporation (CE) has appointed Benita Casey as chief accounting officer. Casey assumes this role from Kevin Oliver, who, in addition to his chief accounting officer role, successfully served as interim chief financial officer until Scott Richardson’s appointment in February. As part of the company’s commitment to developing employees, Oliver is relocating to assume the role of CFO of Celanese’s European headquarters in Amsterdam. Casey joined the company in January as vice president (VP), finance and controller. Read more
