AkzoNobel Speciality Chemicals said that it is extending its offering of Kromasil silica products to support key steps in drug development. The new Kromasil line targets supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC), which has emerged as a favoured drug development technology. Givaudan strengthens sustainable patchouli supply chain in Indonesia

Givaudan SA said that it is strengthening its sustainable patchouli oil sourcing and improving conditions for smallholder producers in its collection network in Indonesia through a multi-year project. The project is funded by the Givaudan Foundation and in cooperation with the international non-governmental organisation Swisscontact. Training programmes are being offered to over 1,000 patchouli producers and their families on good agricultural and distillation practices, improved management of household income as well as education on nutrition. Lanxess AG said that it will expand the capacity for Macrolex dyes at its Leverkusen site. With an investment volume of more than €5 million, the current production capacity is to be increased by 25 percent, which will be available by the end of 2018. Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) may be rethinking its plan to sell 60 percent stake in hydrocarbon blocks held by Oil and Natural Gas Corp Ltd (ONGC) and Oil India Ltd (OIL), two people familiar with the development said.Last November, as a production enhancement measure, DGH had proposed to sell a 60 percent stake in the hydrocarbon fields of ONGC and OIL to private exploration firms.
